To say that I boldly
went out on my own is somewhat of a stretch. Bohnsack Design actually
began as a side hobby while I was working with well-established
entities in the advertising business. Although I was not yet an
entrepreneur, my network of contacts included many of them. And
with my past employers being too big to handle requests from these
entrepreneurs for Web sites, brand identity work or mini ad campaigns,
I serviced these “hey Chris, I’ll buy you dinner
if you can help me with this project” requests during
my off hours, keeping my wife worried that she would forget what
I looked like without a keyboard within 18 inches of my face. After
the 1000th request for a side project, I sensed a trend developing
and officially turned
the rewarding and fulfilling side work into a rewarding and fulfilling
LLC.
That was way back in 2004. Today, Bohnsack
Design is thriving with work from such clients as
Evergreen Turf, Hidden Meadow Ranch, KTVK 3TV, The Scottsdale Public
Library System, Mighty Interactive, Nouveau Riche, Off Madison Ave,
Osborn Maledon Law, Park&Co, PetSmart Charities, The Phoenix
Symphony, the list goes on. These clients like the three
principles I apply to their creative communication needs, and
I’m happy and humbled to say that they are not the only ones
taking notice. My work has been featured in several books, recent
titles include Design
Matters: Logos 01 and Graphically
Speaking. More importantly, Mrs. Bohnsack has been happy to see me
eating meals without a mouse in one hand.
With my extensive background in the design
and development of sophisticated, easy-to-use websites, I’ve
designed and developed hundreds of interactive projects including
everything from e-mail to e-commerce. Over the years, my
work has been featured in the American Institute of Graphic Arts
Prisma Awards, Addy Awards, Pollie Awards and recognized in Print
Magazine’s
Regional Design Annual.
My teaching experience ranges from an adjunct
faculty position at Grand Canyon University to wrangling my baby
daughter. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic
Design from the University of Arizona. I am a member of the American
Institute of Graphic Arts as well as the Greater Phoenix Chamber
of Commerce.
